Vision: The CSCA Induction Program is designed to meet the requirements to become a School Counselor if you currently hold a Colorado LPC or Social Work license. The program focuses on the tenets and skills necessary for the school counseling profession. It is designed to include the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model (3rd Edition).
Goals: The goal of the CSCA Induction Program is to ensure each induction candidate is prepared to pass the Praxis and can fulfill the school counseling role.
Criteria: The CSCA Induction Program requires inductees to hold a valid Colorado license - LPC or Social Work LCSW. Each induction candidate will enroll in the CSCA Induction Program for one full year (48 hours). The course year will begin in September and end in May.
Benefits: Induction candidates will receive a completion of 48 contact hours from CSCA and Adams State University (ASU)** that can be presented to CDE for provisional licensure as a School Counselor. (All other licensure requirements must be met as well).

To complete all coursework as assigned
The cost of the CSCA Induction Program is $800 and covers costs to obtain graduate credits from ASU. It does not include costs for textbooks or the Praxis examination.
This induction program reflect what is required by Colorado statute (C.R.S. 22-60.5-204) and Colorado State Board of Education rules (1 CCR 301-37 8.01-02).
